We found the resort tidy and clean ,but the dining needed a lot of attention,re attitude,avaiable space for house guest in dining room. On arrival told that there was no space for house guest,for that evening.I would like to think that there was several tables just for some of the new arrivals,for light dinners,or some allowances made to compensate.We arrived at 1.45 at the outside bar and was told that the kitchen had closed.this is in the peak season.

I found the Travelodge Mirambeena Resort Darwin an excellent place to stay. The staff treated me as if I was a very well liked family member. I could not find fault with the facilities or the accommodation.

The first Townhouse assinged to us was a shamble, the aircond did not work, the place smelled damp and mouldy. We checked in at 1:30 pm on 17th Dec 06 and after fiddling with the single unit aircond for 30 min (meantime we called in the hotel staff who was very helpful and friendly), we went out for lunch. Returning to the Townhouse later in the afternoon, the whole place was depressing, the family miserable. My husband reported to the front desk and the same hotel staff who attended to us earlier on suggested that we moved to another Townhouse which was so much better, with 2 aircond units, one downstairs and one upstairs. Location wise, Mirambeena is fantastic. Across the road, there is a hugh supermaket. Few steps further down the road, two Chinese restaurants, and the Royal Brunei Airline Office. Very very convenient. I told my husband that if we (without the children) were to stay at Mirambeena again, we will probably try the Hotel facilities instead of the Townhouse.

some staff had a most unhappy attitude and some did not know much about their own hotel facilities and procedures. The hotel is somewhat run down and could do with some renovating and repairs. Considering that most flights out of Darwin are around midnight most guest were left sitting in the foyer for up to 10 hours as there was not an option for a late check out or availability for a shower before flight departures.

Rooms were cleaned but essentials weren't replaced.ie teabags, milk etc. I have travelled a lot here and overseas and never been charged a fee to use the safe in your room. The charge was $3.30. That was every day if you requested a key for the safe. Outrageous.

The hotel is situated downtown Darwin, very convenient. Nice garden with pools and good parking facilities.

Overall, this was a good choice for us with small children, mainly because the pools are great. The town house was reasonably well equipped and clean. We'd recommend it as good value.

There was no lift in our area of the resort (we were on the second floor) which made it difficult with all our luggage. Very good location as it was easy walking distance to centre of city.

I requested 3 single beds for 3 adults and ended up with a room with a double, single and sofa bed. Unfortunately we then had to cram another single bed into the room. I feel the information was misleading. Also reception had some significant difficulty in finding my booking on arrival & had to move into a flurry of phone calls to work it out - not all that comforting when you know the place is full and have had a long day travelling.
