Motel style doesn't really suit the climate - ac is only on when you're in the room, and the place has an air of having had better days. But it's cheap enough, close enough to the main bit of town, and probably a lot quieter than more central places if you want to be up early for a tour.

The Germanic friendly lady receptionist was a diamond. She gave us a very good welcome and gave us some very good advice for our Australian holiday. Her welcoming manner and politeness was so refreshing having just endured the long flight from the United Kingdom, to arrive late at night and in the middle of a tropical downpour. We give her 10/10. Thank you and ASTI should thank her as well.

Good points- the hotel is good value for money, clean and air con is great Bad points the old dragon at reception could do with some customer service training the restaurant never opened during our 3 days there 10 minute walk to town centre has a tired rundown feel to it.

cleaness was not up to scratch, under beds and under micro wave. also around bathroom areas. but towels and shampoos excellent. we really needed a chair, not stools, it is very uncomfortable to sit on stools for 4 nights to watch tv/ in all it wasn't too bad. but we do think it is very over priced. and would not recommend it on that basis. we have just been to pacific apartments in adelaide/ very modern and up to date for $180.

Try to ensure room overlooks pool. Mine was IN the car park. Other rooms better locations. Handy buses. Rooms adequately equipped, AC good. Clothes washing facilities. Nice pool. Restaurant rather expensive and limited hours, no cheap quick meals - lamb good, prawns terrible, soup and rolls pretty bad. Good cheerful staff in restaurant. Reception always manned. No Internet access but Internet cafe 5 mins. Would stay again but eat out. Not far to shops and eateries.

The hotel is located a little way out of Darwin center, so if you have a car its fine.

Shower terrible - no water pressure, and unable to regulate water temp- either too hot or too cold. Would have given better rating if price $100 per night or less. To expensive for what it is.

The Restaurant was closed for renovations & there were no alternative arrangements made for even a continental Breakfast. I would NOT have booked this hotel if I had known. There is a 24 hr diner a short (wet) walk down the road, but there was the possibility of being stuck without food when cyclone Ingrid threatened. Also Reception did not always answer during the day/evening, my phone handset did not initially work, & the air-conditioning outlet leaked in the back door of my unit. Rooms were basic, but beds comfortable. Salt water pool was good. Location is a 20-30 minute walk or short drive into the centre of town (including supermarkets & post office).

I found the room very quiet, with easy access to the street and to the restaurant. I was very grateful to the staff for promptly attending to my booking when I arrived well after midnight due to a late flight. I would certainly recommend the Asti and would use it again myself.

The location is good but this is an old motel and is expensive compared to better, newer places. The operators do, however, run a good organization.

Basic motel type hotel. Facilities are quite old and although the room was small it was very clean and well set up. Central to Darwin. Didn't use restaurant as local restaurants within easy walking distance.
