An excellent hotel. The staff were very efficient and above all welcoming. The rooms were very nice although if I were being picky the bathroom was a little small. Plenty of character and nothing seemed too much trouble. Food was fantastic in the main dining room and at breakfast. There's also a Michelin Star restaurant upstairs which I didn't have time to try but I expect it's just as good. The only thing lacking is a gym/pool. With that in mind, only a 9 and a half out of 10!

A unique hotel. Very good does not do it justice. I found everything to be excellent. Location can be no more than good, it is about 10 minutes walk from main shopping area and another 10 minutes walk to river. Despite this I would certainly stay at the hotel again.

The hotel, being an old water tower,is something away from the ordinary.Staff is very friendly and efficient and the facilities are very good.It's an oasis of peace and tranquility.I persoannly, being from Cologne, would rate the location as 'Very good', but I believe that a foreigner might get a bit lost in the old streets, although it's actually only a 20 minutes gentle walk from the hotel to the cathedral or the old town.Shopping is actually only 15 minutes away.I recommend the hotel without any breservation and will not hesitate to return.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! A beautiful place architecturally (it's fun just wandering round the hotel and getting lost!) with the friendliest staff you could wish for. They always had a smile, and were happy to stop and chat at any time. The Michelin star restaurant was closed when we were there (Sunday) because the hotel caters mainly for business guests during the week, but the second restaurant was excellent. The hotel was very hot (as was Cologne) and the rooms have no AC but the staff kindly brought us a fan up to the room. Overall a wonderful stay, great value for money, and I would definitely stay there again!!
