We really enjoyed our stay in the Swissotel, Chicago where we spent 4 days in December 2006. We found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Our room was very clean bright & airy, and we had a magnificent view of Lake Michigan to awaken to every morning. The hotels location was perfect, being within a short walking distance of Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chicago.

From the time we arrived to the Swissotel, we felt our expectations were not met. The room was small and the decor was average. We felt the hotel was way over-priced, including parking which we in turn paid $35 for 1 night. At check out I had expressed our displeasure and was handed a survey to complete. Overall, we felt this hotel didn't meet the quality portrayed on all websites we had visited. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality 4 star hotel.

In fairness the hotel was spotless with a great view of the lake. However the Swisshotel lets itself down with the snootiness of some of its staff, who appear to believe that a condescending and supercilious manner is somehow befitting of good service. Beware of hidden extras: although we got a great deal on Hotelclub regarding the room price, this was offset by the $25 the hotel charged me for a forty second phonecall to the UK(five times what our New York hotel charged for the same call).

This 5 star hotel was the greatest. Not a bad room in the place. All were on the outside with a view. Highly recomend the hotel and the Palm restaurant that is in the hotel. The staff was great and very helpful. Would send my best friend there

It was a good stay. I would not rate this hotel four stars. It would be about three 1/2 stars in my book. The room looked a little dated. The bedspread and curtains looked old. The view was nice.
