I was disappointed in the general standard of the hotel. It did not merit a four star recommendation. Although in a good location and the facilities not too bad the rooms were small, as was the bathroom and could have done with a renovation. I would not return to this hotel.

We visted during December and the lobby was decorated in a grand fashion. The rooms had a very plain decor. The bathroom floor was in need of a cleaning. The restaurants in the hotel were a bit pricey. We had sunday lunch at McCormack and Schmicks and were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The location of the hotel is perfect for the theatre district and visiting the commons and Newbury street.

The cleanliness in my single room - in the bathroom behind the door was appalling (a general buildup) - I was leaving the day I noticed; otherwise I would have complained and checked out that room. Some of the staff were also not too helpful. The room was also small. I asked for a nonsmoking room - but it was smoking and an ashtray was a big clue.
