When we arrived, the room we were shown had two single beds and we had asked for a double. For an extra 30 Euros, we had a great room with a sitting room facing the river.

We had a most pleasant stay at Barcelo Nervion Hotwl Bilbao in 2004. Everything about the hotel was outstanding. Our room was lovely and quiet, and location marvellous, as we had specifically come to visit the Guggenheim. We had found the hotel on the Internet from New Zealand - the location was just perfect. The hotel staff were execellent. We would most certainly recommend the hotel to any New Zealanders about to visit Bilbao.

The single room was miniscule, hot and airless. Air conditioning did not appear to work and opening window revealed view of dustbins below. Was also above kitchen, which gave it an unfortunate smell. It was during a major conference and was one of the last rooms left in Bilbao - this was possibly why.

Very good hotel. Excellent value for money. The reception area has a nice clean modern feel, open plan with loads of comfy sofas and a good bar/cafe/tapas area. Highly recommended.

Excellent location. Limited garage parking @ 14.50e pn (we were early enough to claim a space). Concern re. breakfast: Hotel wanted to charge about 25 euros, having received 70+ euros from Hotel Club. We paid HC 100 euros! Website said 'complimentary buffet breakfast' when we paid (May), but we note this has since changed! Hotel did not charge us when we explained we had copies of all paperwork. Very confusing .....

Although the Hotel information said they have Hotel parking, this ended up not being the case. They do have a car park below the hotel, but they must rent out space to locals as there was no room... and the hotel was not fully booked.

easy to get by bus very close to Guggenheim nice walks along the river the lifts are very small! breakfast was great

Deceptive in that it does front the river but nearly all the rooms are behind other buildings and look onto the back of these. The blight that is open plan design means it can be noisy if there is a party. Still it is a decent reasonably priced hotel close to town and with good service adn facilitiies.

Very noisy rooms - we could hear everything from the neighbouring rooms, especially the plumbing. Also we had booked a double room but we were told that this meant twin room in Spain and one had to phone to book a double (it is not possible on the net).

Not as modern as it makes out. The foyer in nice and modern but the rooms are somewhat older and darker .
