This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in; relaxed, smoothly run, high quality facilities and very pleasant staff. It is well located and we thought it was excellent value for the money.

Enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is ideally situated, but still in a quiet square. The public areas are all excellent and the breakfast was very good. I enjoyed relaxing in the pool and sauna. My room was fine, but I didn't think it was up to 5* standard and could have done with a bit of a face-lift. The bathroom was a bit small for such a prestigious hotel. Nevertheless, an enjoyable experience.

Uncharming 4-star hotel, lacking the last touch that makes the big difference. The drain from the bathtub was blocked, dirty glasses was not replaced, no body lotion the first day etc. But the breakfast buffet and the location was great.

The Berlin Steigenberger as a room to sleep in was a good value for the money, but it is definitely not on the level of a five star hotel as advertised. At best it is a four star with pretentions. But even at that it doesn't provide the level of services we've enjoyed at some other four star hotels we've stayed in. Would still recommend it as a room to sleep in, but only at the four star level.

When I first arrived, (very late at night after driving for several hours), they put us in a room that had a bad smell. The room was very small and dingy, and it did not even have shampoo in the bathroom. I called the front desk and complained, and they put us in a bigger room on a higher floor that had nicer furniture and was stocked with everything, including bathrobes & slippers. But I had to complain to get the nice room. The first room they tried to give us made me feel that I was NOT in a 5-star luxury hotel, but in a 2-star hotel. Obviously, they try to give their lowest quality rooms to people who book through HotelClub.
