Stayed here a few years ago, an excellent hotel - right at the top of las ramblas and overlooking plaza de catalunya. Can be a bit noisy if you leave the windows open, but that may have been due to Barca beating Real Madrid! It's a weird entrance to the hotel, you go through a watch shop! But the staff spoke english and v.helpful. I left my clothes in the wardrobe by mistake, they sent them back to England. (admittedly i had to send them a cheque first, but at least they didn't lie that they had gone missing or something). Rooms were decent size, but if you ask for a room on the end then you get a massive room with a large bathroom. only possible downside was no bar or breakfast (not that i remember anyway), not that you need one as you're next to the bars and restaurants in las ramblas. And also the piped music coming into the rooms in the morning was a bit odd!

Small rooms with ensuite which are clean and tidy. Located in a great position for exploring Barcelona. Breakfast very basic.

The rooms were essential but good, the only one on our four country trip that did not have a hair dryer in the room. But their electrical system supported my 1600 watt travel dryer. The rooms were noisy but it was fun to be able to look out at the plaza and people watch and listen to live music. The hotel was in a waonderful location. There was always something going on well into the night right there. Accessing the hotel desk and elevator was sometimes a problem as one arrives there walking through a watch shop. There is not much space and it seemed like there were always people crowded around.

The beauty of the hotel is its location. That's it and that's all. My room was tiny, barely enough space to walk around the bed (which was a decent size). No windows, very noisy - but not from the outside noise, but inside one. One has to sleep with earplugs or not sleep at all. I don't know whose idea it was to play music throughout the hotel, but it was loud enough to be disturbing. Room was clean initially, but wasn't thoroughly done during the stay - some trash left, no soap or shampoo left. No hairdrier either. The room cost is based solely on location, which is great - right in the center of the city. However, it was marked on the map incorrectly, and overall the hotel's sign is hard to find. Not a good price/service value.

For a quick trip to barcelona the hotel is ideal: clean and superbly located. the single room was small but the bathroom was good. The hotel is not cheap but it is not expensive bearing in mind the location. You would not want to stay for more than a few days due to the lack of public room and other services.
