The modernist Hotel HCC Taber was designed by famous Catalan architect Domenech i Montaner. Located in the heart of Barcelona's tourist and shopping district, this Art Nouveau hotel is 100 m (110 yards) from the bars and restaurants of the lively Ramblas, and three blocks from Plaça Catalunya. Offers quality, comfort, functionality and modern facilities - perfect for both leisure and business travel.
93 air-conditioned guestrooms are traditionally decorated in a pale yellow color scheme, and feature wireless internet access, cable television, heating, a minibar and safe. Head off a busy day of meetings or sightseeing with a tasty buffet-style breakfast. Later, relax in the cozy bar and lounge. No on-site restaurant, but several dining options exist nearby.
Barcelona is one of the liveliest cities on the Mediterranean coast. You can also visit surrounding towns and beaches easily on the train, bus and subway (stops near the hotel). (1) Travellers, beware that typical Spanish city hotels have rooms with windows that look out on a dark closed inner court of 5 x 5 meters, without proper ventilation. The A/C recirculates the air in the room, but does not bring clean air in from the outside. The windows are tinted and are supposed to be left closed to provide some privacy from your opposite side neighbour. Since the rooms are mostly tiny, this gives a claustrophobic feeling. If you have problems with this ask specifically for a street facing room in which you can fully enjoy the street noise. (2) The staff was very friendly and sweet but their control of the English language was rather poor for International Hotel business. Since my Spanish is unacceptable as well, we had some good laughs in communicating. (3) The breakfast was very nice and well worth the 15 Euro. For the price/location the Hotel is a very good choice for your stay in Barcelona.

This is the first time ever that I have to pay extra for using the safety box located in the room This should be included in the price - remember that you advice your guest to use it

The Hotel was in an excellent location. The only drawback was that housecleaning did not replace soaps, so I had to get from the front desk. They did a good job of maintaining a clean room though.
