The reception staff in Sofitel Central Plaza were helpful when we showed them our confirmation letter from hotelclub.net eventhough there were no information from hotelclub.net when we checked in at 2pm on 16/10/05. After checking in, my friend and I went shopping and left the key with the reception. Guess what when we came back? The key was not with them and the reception staff told us that we were not registered under that room. Our luggages were inside and widely opened! Then the Manager took us to the room and certified that was our room with our belongings in there. Thank goodness! It was a mix feelings rating this hotel.

This was a transit hotel for us arriving fron Sofitel Hua Hin......this Sofitel was just a hotel nothing special and the beds were VERY VERY HARD!!!!!! In comparision the Sofital in Hua Hin was amazing and one of the best hotels we have stayed in how the Central Plaza can be a Sofitel amazes me.......Sofitel are meant to be 5 star-this is more 4 star......

A 5 star hotel with 4 star rooms: the interior is very dated although clean. Staff was slightly arrogant, especially front desk personell and the atmosphere not very welcoming. Although the facilities are very good (pool, restaurants, business center) and the price for a room is OK, it will not be our choice of accommodation in the near future.

It is unfortunate that at the time of checking in at 3p.m. our room was not ready and we had to wait 45 minutes for a room, despite of the fact that we booked 3 months in advance. However, we would like to praise the room service when we ordered our dinner, which arrived quickly and was presented in a very stylish manner. Also the early wake-up call and excellent breakfast before 6a.m.

Great hotel if you are transiting through Bangkok. Right next to a shopping centre with a great food section. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Great place to stay if you are on a hop from Bangkok airport. Taxi is about 150 Baht. Rooms now looking a bit tired but overall not a bad place to stay. Note that there will be a new airport in 2005 to the east of the city.

The hotel itself is very nice and the rooms fine, but I was rather disappointed to see workmen had left tarping and tools outside our room all night, making it seem like we were staying in a construction site rather then a Sofitel.
