+ Very clean and comfortable, polite staff, reasonable price for a 4-star hotel, good location.
+ breakfast view, room design
+ We loved the Athens Gate. We had stayed here in 2003 and it has now been totally transformed! We particularly loved eating breakfast in the amazing roof-top restaurant, which has amazing views of Athens.
-Read more There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel. However, I was quite impressed that when I was in the bathroom, there was a two way mirror so that when you were using the bathroom, you could see out into the bedroom and out onto Athens through the glass balcony. It actually turned out that it wasn't a two way mirror and when you were in the bedroom, you could see through into the bathroom! We found this quite amusing!Hide
+ This four star hotel provides five star service. The staff and management were friendly, courteous and most helpful. This is a new hotel with a great view from the roof top restaurant of the AcropolisRead more and the Temple of Zeus. The breakfast buffet is first rate.
+ Comfortable and modern; good breakfast buffet; very convenient location (close to metro station) for getting to the centre of Athens.
+ Location, view from the terrace, new and clean rooms
- Elevators,Mirror window in the bathroom, short side glass in the shower, early ending(10 a.m) of breakfast
+ It's worth it to pay a bit more for the view! Also the free breakfast on
- All was superb!
+ everything...my stay exceeded my expectations...from the website photos I thought the hotel was older...but upon arrival there found it is not! rooms like new, modern furnishings and really nice! StaffRead more are excellent: super friendly and delightful. The Manager, Petros is great! we had several email communications before my trip.. he is so kind, trying to make sure my visit was pleasant and pro-actively offering helpful information: providing not only directions to his hotel, but the Metro Map. And you can't beat the hotel location: close to Metro, blocks from the Acropolis and the Plaka...close to everything a visitor on vacation would like to see. Excellent breakfast buffet included with the room...and you can't beat the breakfast view: on the rooftop with excellent view of the Acropolis. I used Metro or walked to get around...never once needed to use a taxi.
- with the great hotel location (close to things) also meant it is on a busy street...so was traffic noise at night...I always travel with ear plugs, so just slept wearing them and was fine...but the noise might bother other people.Hide
+ Friendly staff and fabulous view.
+ Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was lovely. Bathroom was very nice, shower was excellent, shampoo/conditioners etc were very good quality as i didn't want to unpack, so just used them. LocationRead more is excellent, just around the corner from the Plaka area and very safe. Near the metro also. The Roof Garden bar was lovely although, closes at 11pm. View of Acropolis was lovely from there.
- Can't find any faults. Probably wouldn't pay the extra againf or a room with a view of Parthegon or Acropolis, as the roof garden made for a nice view anyway. In all, a very nice hotel with lovely staff who come across as genuinely friendly people.Hide
