We had booked a double room, but were given a twin room without any explanation! There were no doubles available until the next day, so we had the twin for first night. the room was tiny and we had to sit sideways on the toilet, as the wall was about 9 inches in front of it! Double room was bigger, but the shower ran cold the last day and we had to travel home without a shower. I will not be back to this hotel!!!

Having read some of the other comments we thought the room may be a bit small but found it was fine. Really nice, clean hotel in the centre of Amsterdam at a very good price comparatively. Only problem was, as previous users have said, no tea/coffee facilities in the room, pay to view TV if you wanted it, and they tried to charge us 5% city tax when the website assures all taxes included. However, we rang the number on the booking form and were told all taxes were included so told the hotel we were not paying it!! They were fine and spoke to [your website]themselves. All in all, a very nice stay but do not take a taxi from the airport unless you agree a price first!!! We were totally and utterly ripped off. Take the train to Centraal Station and get a taxi from there again asking the price first.

Somehow a thief managed to get into the hotel and came into my room and stole my bag and purse whilst I was in the room. I was totally terrified, I know it wasn't the hotel's fault as he kicked the door in but there was no security or camera's to prevent or catch the thief.

Very Centrally located hotel only 5 min walk from Dam Square and all trams. Hotel itself is a bit like a rabbit warren as it's in an old building with many stairs and corridors. Could do with Tea / Coffe making facilities in the rooms and a hairdrier. ( E10 deposit from reception !!). Otherwise perfectly adequate and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent location for a short break in Amsterdam. Rooms are functional rather than luxurious, but clean with comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Apart from that only a small bar area so no lounge, but this is usual for this type of hotel

I was a little dissapointed that the pavement that runs in front of the hotel was having work done so was a bit of a mess. I found the price was a bit expensive and the breakfast was not great, they didn't even have a toaster! However, it was quite close to Dam Square and if you aren't planning on spending a great deal of time in the Hotel, this is fine.

Well located in central Amsterdam. Rooms fairly small and basic, with little character - you pay for the location. Good buffet breakfast (hot & cold) and friendly staff.

The hotel was great, clean and in a good location, although a tea making service in rooms would of been great Lovely quiet location only 5 mins to dam square, around the hotel was some great bars and resturants. We cant wait to go back.

Room was a little on the small side but very clean and comfortable. Hotel is brilliantly located for the centre of Amsterdam and also very near to the tram routes for most of the major attractions. Situated on the the Herensgracht which is the most beautiful of the canals. I'd suggest it was a little pricey for the size of the room but that's the only minor complaint.

Bedrooms need to be double glazed-those facing the Singel receive quite a lot of street noise. Pay TV would be better replaced by a free system or removed completely. Some form of Tea/Coffee facilities should be available either in the bedrooms or on the landings-free or a small charge.

Bar closes too early for holidaymakers and when open the service was slow due to staff doing other duties and only assisiting at the bar when required to do so. This led to customers havind to wait for the availability of a suitable member of staff. When recieved the service was good from all staff who attended the bar.
