Staff v friendly. Had std double rm, good size, clean, great canal view, bathrm door squeaked loudly - fixed with shaving oil, decor bit dated, good shower, no fridge/mini bar, reading light & switch poorly placed. Husband thought bfast rm oppressive b/c of dark ceiling. Huge drillng machine outside window started at 5am - Metro extension. Would stay again but might consider room upgrade.

My room was directly above the street & hotel entrance. VERY noisy - I got about 3 hours sleep. Not very restful!

The staff were pleasant and helpful and the location was great. It was very close to all of the major museums but a bit too close to ta busy street. I would, however, book a room there again.

standard rooms are very small, we were able to upgrade to a superior room which was better. Customers should be warned about the size of the standard rooms. Friendly staff and a good location.

Very good hotel well placed for museums/canal boats and trams.6min taxi drive from centraal station and 15 mins by taxi from airport. One minor point - if you dont like mice dont stay, they have a resident in the lounge bar area who makes an appearance most evenings and some people find him a little unnerving!! Having said that, no evidence found in any of the other rooms and it is a problem in many of the hotels because of the age of the buildings and nearby canals!!

Visited this hotel on many occasions and always a delight to deal with them. Staff are superb and very friendly. Let us book in early without any problem or jobsworths. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My room was on two levels - unusual but acceptable although very hot upstairs. The Restaurant was very good.
