The bar was very small and smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Very basic facilities. Some staff appeared to be very distrusting of the English, demanding money up-front for phone and Taxi etc. A very long walk into town. Trams and traffic on the street kept us awake. Not the most enjoyable stay we've had !!

No real complaints about this hotel. Realy central, major museums only a couple of blocks away and busess, etc, right outside the door. Staff extremely helpful.

Excellent value for money. The hotel rooms were lovely and spacious, staff extremly helpful and breakfast good. The only disappointment was the building works next door which started at 7-15 each morning and very noisy. The hotel staff were most apologetic and constantly complained to them. I highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location, across the road from the entrance to the Concert Hall, a couple of mins from the Music Conservatory, The Van Gogh Museum and many other museums. Good advice and help from staff on how to get anywhere. Breakfast and coffee fine. Close to a number of good eating places. We would definately stay there again and hopefully also fit in a concert next time.

The service was vey poor, room cleaning was only just acceptable with a number of items forgotten on serval days and even when it was requested to be put right it was not. Forget the room service- ours never came and when asked about it in the morning no one was concerned. Walk around to the restaurant it was the best we found in the city. Quite noisy at night - groups of young men stay here and they come and go throughout the night

Nothing special but a good hotel superbly placed for the Museum area of Amsterdam and close to the town centre and vondel park. The rooms are clean and average size and the hotel staff are helpful. Anyway your going to Amsterdam get out of the hotel and see the city particularly the Van Gogh and the great restaurants!
