Receptionist on that day was rude,unpolite to customer. Premises is very unsafe because staircase is very stiff with no proper handrails. My finger was caught on the door in going down because nothing to hold on. No lift to carry your lugage not recommended for people attending congress like me with lots of heavy things for the lecture.Room was dirty, linen was slightly wet and very crumpled which you can still see many hairs, in short DINGY. Floor old and dirty. No proper cabinet to put your things. The only thing presentable is the toilet I know people wants a cheap hotel like me for travel especially if they stay more than 3 nights, if Its gonna be like this I will think twice. It doesnt matter if its old or new as long as it is clean and comfortable to stay. Its a shame because this is easy access to everywhere in the city. If this hotel will be presentable they can charge more. I cannot recommend this to other people. I want to cry when I arrived in this hotel.

The hotel provided good, clean, basic accommodation. Its proximity to a tram service was very useful. The owner was very helpful and always assisted us with our queries.

Interesting place - took my 16 year old for her birthday - we found the aroma of cigs in reception sweet. Pity about the nylon sheets. But it was good. Great bar and food at street level. Noise from trams was intrusive. All in all an experience.

I have already sent a complaint to yourselves!!! Unless you are a tramp and a very dirty one at that, never ever stay here we went in felt dirty and came back out, it is a total hovel

The people were very friendly, helpful and pleasant and the outside of the hotel was clean. We could've saved a bundle by booking directly with the hotel. The hotel's first impression upon entering is very bad, the carpetted stairs are filthy and the reception literally reeks of old smoke. There is no elevator and even the first floor rooms are up the first flight of stairs. The room was clean. The lighting is poor in the bathroom. No room service is provided. The towels were thin and no washcloths are provided. There is no shower curtain so the entire bathroom gets wet when showering making it difficult to use the toilet and stay dry. The remote control was also filthy. The location was perfect as it is in a quiet part of town. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The room was big and airy but there is no decor. I would not stay in this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Communial areas a bit grotty but room were clean (though in need of some major refurbishment). Take your own milk if you want it in your tea/coffee.

The Hotel is ideally located four stops away from Amsterdam Centraal by tram. It is 5 minutes walk from the City Centre and therefore very conveniently located. Plantage is a small, old Hotel that is relatively clean but the internal staircase is narrow and steep and posed problems in getting luggage to the room. The pricing was excellent.

we had booked a 6 night stay but on arrival were initially told they had only recorded a reservation for 3 nights. After showing them our hotelclub voucher they accepted us however, we were going to have to move room after 2 nights to a different hotel!, then when we came to move room they told us we were going to have to move back again after a further 2 nights.They told us they would move our bags but did'nt, they told us they would look into compensation but offered none. It was a dirty hotel and was worse than any backpackers we have stayed in which says a lot!

The hotel is a fire trap. Stairway is very narrow and I got a room at the 3rd floor - no elevator. This hotel presents itself at hotel club with misleading advertising. Bed sheets apparently were not changed from previous guests. I had to search for a breakfast at 8 AM and got it only 3 km away. The rooms do not have even a telephone.
