Rooms weren't clean on arrival and we had to ask for coffee stains to be removed from the walls and dead insects to be removed from the floor. Door to toilet/bathroom didn't close and we had to ask for this to be fixed. While these problems were attended to, we didn't think that we should have had to ask for this most basic of services. The gym was also very disappointing and doesn't warrant the name gym. The pool was good though.

About the worst hotel we have stayed in ever. Allegedly 4 star, 2 star is more like it. Rooms were dirty, we found spiders and cockroaches, broken door and air conditioning. Bathroom was old, crazed surfaces to basin and bath, couldn't use the bath because the plug was kept on a shelf that obviously hadn't been cleaned since the hotel was built and both were encrusted with grime and worse. Windows were also filthy inside and out. The fridge in our room was not working. Cups were dirty and chipped. Staff seemed surprised that we wanted to change our rooms.

Hotel badly in need of upgrading, especially the pool area. We were disappointed as not what we expected of a Novotel. We were looking forward to a cocktail by the pool (as per photo) however this isn't an option as there was no bar in sight that was open. Very strange bathrooms - like a caravan - wouldn't stay there again.

I still don't understand why no toilet brush is provided in most hotel/motel rooms. Staff were friendly and efficient though there was some proplem with my reservation they did not have any record and also another guest who had also pre booked via american express I think. But both of us were quickly checked in.

Some staff members displayed a less than friendly attitude particularly the morning staff in the dining room. As I was attending a conference at Lasseters, there were many registrants also staying at Novotel. There was general dissatisfaction with the attitude of this young female staff member and I know of at least two clients who will be taking the matter further. Gail and Dave on the front desk both showed a professional helpful attitude.

Everthing good but awful food
